It contains detailed recommendations for individual substances, materials and articles and a number of recommendations for good operational practice, including advice on terminology, acking, labelling, stowage, segregation and handling and emergency response action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who uses it:\u00a0<\/strong>Although the information in the Code is directed primarily at the mariner, its provisions may affect a range of industries and services, such as manufacturers, packers, shippers, feeder services such as road and rail and port authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Amendment 42-24 includes revisions to various sections of the Code and to transport requirements for specific substances. It is mandatory as from 1 January 2026 but may be applied by Administrations in whole or in part on a voluntary basis from 1 January 2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VOLUME 1<\/strong>\u00a0(parts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7) contains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>general provisions, definitions and training<\/li>\n<li>classification<\/li>\n<li>packing and tank provisions<\/li>\n<li>consignment procedures<\/li>\n<li>construction and testing of packaging, IBCs, large<\/li>\n<li>packagings, portable tanks, MEGCs and road tank vehicles<\/li>\n<li>transportation operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>VOLUME 2<\/strong>\u00a0contains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Part 3 (Dangerous Goods List,<\/li>\n<li>special provisions and exceptions)<\/li>\n<li>Appendix A (list of generic and<\/li>\n<li>NOS proper shipping names) and<\/li>\n<li>Appendix B (glossary of terms)<\/li>\n<li>Index<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The IMDG Code lays down basic principles on the transport of dangerous goods by sea.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":31194,"template":"","meta":{"spay_email":""},"product_cat":[52],"product_tag":[],"wcpa_form_fields":null,"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v18.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>IMDG CODE 2024 edt 42-24 (vol 1 &amp;
