Multilateral agreements ADR/RID
A multilateral agreement may have a maximum validity period of five years. During this period, the intention is that corresponding rules will be introduced in ADR and RID. In Sweden, MSB is the competent authority under ADR and RID, which means that it is MSB that may sign agreements for Swedish parties. For a multilateral agreement to enter into force, in addition to the initiator, at least one other ADR or RID-affiliated country must sign the agreement.
The rules contained in the multilateral agreements can only be applied to transport in the countries that have signed the agreements. For transport between countries, the transit countries must therefore also have signed the agreements. In Sweden, it is also possible to apply the multilateral agreements that MSB has signed to national transport within Sweden.
