This training aims to provide the participant with the knowledge to independently carry out recurring inspections of IBC containers according to the requirements set out in the transport regulations RID, ADR and the IMDG Code. 

The training is approved by MSB and upon successful completion, the participant is considered to meet the requirements to be able to perform recurring inspections of IBC containers. 

The training certificate is obtained after the course and is valid for five years after the training date.
Note! This course does NOT provide authorization to pressurize IBC containers, but the course provides information on the procedure for becoming accredited with Swedac for this authorization.

The training includes one day of theory and one day of practice. It is also a preparation for general questions and the case study for those who will be taking the exam to become a security advisor.

  • Companies and personnel performing periodic inspections of IBC
  • The training can also be seen as an advanced course for safety advisors or instructors in dangerous goods.

  • Applicable requirements for pressure testing with air
  • Classification and identification of dangerous goods
  • Design and testing requirements for IBCs
  • Requirements for the use of IBCs
  • Requirements for periodic inspection of IBCs
  • Labeling and documentation for control of IBCs

The participant must complete a practical test where the instructor assesses the participant's skills in assessing an IBC container based on the requirements for recurrent inspection. In addition, the participant must complete a theoretical exam. Both tests must be completed with a passing score in order to receive a certificate to perform recurrent inspection of IBC containers.
