On January 1, 2023, ICAO and IATA introduced a number of changes and new rules that affect everyone involved in the dangerous goods transport chain, from the sender all the way to the recipient. CBTA, Competency-based Training and Assessment, is in many ways a new approach and a new fundamental view of training and competence. If we translate CBTA, it becomes Competency-based Training and Assessment, especially the latter is completely new and also includes the employer's task of continuously assessing whether the employee maintains their competence. Here it is important to emphasize the employer's significantly increased responsibility for maintaining competence within the company.
