ABOUT CBTA

Background

Through the ICAO-TI regulations, the International Civil Aviation Organization introduced new requirements on January 1, 2023, requiring businesses involved in the transport of dangerous goods by air to train, assess and ensure the competence of their personnel through a so-called CBTA program. The same was introduced within the International Air Transportation Association (IATA).

Certification in the area began in 2022 and DGM Sverige AB became among the first companies in the world to be awarded IATA CBTA Center Provider certification for competency-based training and assessment (CBTA). DGM Sverige AB has been conducting IATA CBTA approved training since September 2022.

CBTA Center of Provider certification opens up a new era in Dangerous Goods training. This innovative, thorough and personalized training method will enable us to offer high-quality, effective and internationally recognized CBTA training courses.

How does it affect you?

Remember that the category of training is disappearing, i.e. it is your function that determines which training you are covered by.

NOTE: It is the employer's responsibility to ensure that personnel are competent to perform all functions for which they are responsible before performing them. Performance requirements should be analyzed and based on legal and business-related requirements and should be made by a competent person, such as a safety advisor.
